I had been aware of yoga for a long time, my maternal grandmother was practicing yoga in her 80s, but, as a physical fitness buff it didn't interest me. After all, certainly all that stretching didn't burn many calories(isn't that the meaning of life)? After 30 years of smoking, I quit, and not wanting to gain weight , I started running. I loved running and did many races including half marathons and 4 marathons. At the urging of a sister who was practicing, I started yoga simply as benefit to my running. Fast forward to too much running and not enough yoga and I injured my right psoas muscle. Luckily, I was treating with Lesa Crocker , a Rolf Practitioner who also was starting up a 200 Hr teacher training.
I graduated from the Bodhi Tree 200 Hr in 2004. I was finding yoga to be so much more than the physical practice. Koveri Weber offered her 200 Hr Subtle Yoga training in 2007 which I took to gain a different perspective on the practice. I have attended many workshops, some of the teachers include Erich Schiffman, Doug Keller, Desiree Rambaugh, Brian Kest, Sean Corn , Gurumukh, and Grace Morales. I took a three week yoga tour in 2007 which started at the International yoga festival in Reshikesh and traveled the Ganges to Calcutta. Most recently I graduated from Rolf Gates 500hr training in 2012. I am also a Massage Therapist and Rolf Practitioner. I love yoga and the spiritual growth that it offers. I love people and I love teaching. Teaching is an honor and a privilege and I am grateful to everyone who shares their practice with me.
